Sustainable expansion: EcoAraguaia Jungle Lodge joins the MUDA! Collective

By joining Brazil’s leading responsible tourism network, the Caseara (Tocantins) ecolodge strengthens the Cantão region’s position at the forefront of regenerative tourism and biodiversity conservation.

EcoAraguaia Jungle Lodge, located in the Cantão region—an important ecotone between the Cerrado and the Amazon rainforest—has taken a decisive step to strengthen its position within the impact tourism market. The Tocantins-based ecolodge has officially joined the MUDA! Collective – Brazilian Association for Responsible Tourism, becoming part of a select network of tour operators and accommodation providers helping shape the future of sustainable tourism in Brazil.

“Our decision to join the network reflects the maturity of our ecolodge in transforming its operations into practical tools for conservation and regeneration,” says entrepreneur Guilherme Tiezzi.

Based in Caseara, the gateway to Cantão State Park, EcoAraguaia has developed a hospitality model that combines immersive nature experiences with environmental education and the socioeconomic development of communities living along the Araguaia River. By joining MUDA!, these practices now receive the endorsement of one of the country’s most respected organizations dedicated to responsible tourism.

Greater visibility

Through its membership, the lodge expects to promote not only its own brand but also the entire Lagos e Praias do Cantão Tourism Region on a qualified national and international stage. The MUDA! Collective holds a seat on Brazil’s National Tourism Council (CNT) and maintains a Technical Cooperation Agreement with Embratur to promote Brazilian sustainable tourism abroad.

According to the organization, EcoAraguaia’s membership strengthens the network’s presence in territories of outstanding ecological and climate significance.

“We are delighted to welcome EcoAraguaia Hotel Floresta to our network. Together, we continue strengthening a community that believes tourism is a powerful tool for conservation, regeneration, and positive transformation,” the Collective said in an official statement.

EcoAraguaia’s arrival at MUDA! also places the state of Tocantins within leading B2B (business-to-business) distribution channels focused on conscious travelers. At a time when the global tourism market increasingly demands transparency and concrete action against greenwashing, the lodge’s proactive decision to join the association raises the standard for forest-based hospitality in the region, connecting the Araguaia’s unique identity with the broader discussions on ecological transition and experiential tourism in Brazil.

“Becoming part of MUDA! is a decisive milestone in strengthening our position within the impact tourism market,” concludes biologist and EcoAraguaia partner Raquel Acácio.
